Kiko Lopes

Kiko Lopes a.k.a Francis Coal is a tattooer and transdisciplinary artist from Rio de Janeiro. He has been tattooing from a very young age specializing in traditional tattooing with a huge oriental influence. Nowadays his style is developing into a combination of ornamental, tribal, and modern abstract.

Kiko was very present on the graffiti scene in Rio being part of the first generation of Brazilian street spray artists. His work aims to capture the power of the mindfulness and his investigation into the unconscious attempting to find solutions for every day life problems. You can find his work exposed in galleries and museums all over the world. In his spare time he loves transcendental meditation, painting and cycling.
